How does Google AdWords work?

Advertisers pay to display brief advertising copy in relevant search results. You can choose to either use the Google Search Network or place ads on the Google Display Network.

It’s effectively an auction where you bid for keywords and you only pay once a user has clicked on your ad. However, you don’t have to have the highest bid to get placed at the top of results. Google also gives each ad a quality score based on numerous factors. We work hard to make sure that you actually pay less to appear above your competitors and hit the campaign goals.
